The Dolly Madison Ball

This past weekend I attended the Dolly Madison Ball, hosted by the Commonwealth Vintage Dancers at the 1816 Old Town Hall in Salem, MA--which could not be a more perfect venue for this event.

Mrs. B and the lovely Taylor who we all know from Dames a la Mode. 

I wasn't going to wear my 1820s day gown to a ball, nor do I plan to wear the slightly awkward dress from last year ever again. Needless to say the weeks leading up to the event were filled with sewing and research and a bit of shopping, but more details about that next week!
